What grief, chaos, and surrender revealed about trusting God.

Life has a way of humbling us.
In 2025, I found myself spiraling after my father died. I uprooted my whole life, left my job, left my church, and carried more anger than I knew what to do with. I had a choice: keep spiraling or surrender.
Today, I choose faith. Not because it's easy, but because it's the only thing that made sense when nothing else did.
My faith journey hasn't been a straight line. It's been messy, filled with questions, and shaped by experiences I never expected. But looking back, I can see how God guided me through every twist and turn.
In this series, I'm sharing the lessons I've learned along the way. These aren't lessons from textbooks or sermons; they're lessons from living. From falling and getting back up. From praying prayers that weren't answered the way I wanted. From discovering that God is faithful even when life isn't fair.
Whether your faith is strong, shaky, or somewhere in between, I hope something here resonates with you.
The Lessons
Trust isn't a one-time decision; it's waking up every morning and remembering that God is in control. Scripture: Proverbs 3:5
Lesson 2: Waiting Has Purpose
Waiting isn't wasted time. It is often God's protection and preparation for what lies ahead.
Scripture: Isaiah 40:31
Lesson 3: Surrender Brings Freedom (A
Surrender isn't giving up; it's letting God take over.
Scripture: Matthew 11:28
Rest isn't laziness, it's obedience. Even God rested on the seventh day.
Scripture: Psalm 46:10
Gratitude is a discipline and it hasn't made my problems disappear, but it has changed how I see them.
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Lesson 6: Courage and Fear Can Coexist
Being brave doesn't mean being fearless. It means choosing to move forward even when I'm afraid, for I know God is with me.
Scripture: Joshua 1:19
Purpose isn't one big thing, it's faithfulness in many small things.
Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11
These lessons didn't come from easy seasons. They were forged in grief, doubt, exhaustion, and surrender. But each one brought me closer to the God who never let me go.
If you're walking through your own difficult season, I pray these words remind you that you're not alone. God is always working, even when you can't see it.
If you'd like me to pray for you, send me a message. I'd be honored to stand with you in prayer.
